Matthew Shirk is an Enrolled Agent who works on the tax team at Gehman Accounting. Matt successfully eliminates or reduces taxes, penalties, and interest for clients. He enjoys explaining taxes to clients so they can understand how much money they save. In addition to tax work, he also reports sales tax for clients, assists businesses in filing proper registration, and files quarterly payroll. Matt also works as the bookkeeper and payroll processor for Gehman Accounting.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an associate degree in accounting from Pennsylvania College of Technology and McCann School of Business, respectively. He has worked for Nathan Siegrist for nearly 20 years under different business names. Before working for Nathan, Matt worked in construction.
Matt’s hobbies include sports, hunting, and reading. He is the husband of Rebekah and father of two. Matt considers himself a hybrid of old and new technology. Although he uses a GPS, he still likes physical maps and has enjoyed them from a young age. And while he does surf the internet for information, he still likes physical papers or a book, especially when the information is lengthy.
