How to Create a QuickBooks Accountant's Copy

To create an Accountant's Copy, open your QuickBooks file in single-user mode.

  • Go to the File menu and hover over Send Company File.
  • Hover over Accountant's Copy and hover over Client Activities.
  • Click Save File
  • Select Accountant's Copy, and then Next
  • Select Set Dividing Date to 01.01.XX, and then Next
  • Navigate to either Desktop or Downloads so you can easily find your file once it’s saved.
  • Click Save and allow it to run.
  • Click OK and find your Accountant's Copy file wherever you saved it. It should have your company name with "Acct Transfer" in the file name. The file name should look like this: MyCompany(QuickBooks 20XX Acct Transfer Jan 25,20XX 09 33 AM).QBX
  • Upload the file to our website, email it to office@gateam.com, or mail it to us or drop it off at our offices on a flash drive.
  • Send us your current password. If you choose to email your file, we highly recommend that you send your password in a separate email for your security.
